Who we are and what we’re about

Boyne Tannum Bowls Club is a small and thriving volunteer-run bowling club situated on the outskirts of the twin towns of Boyne Island and Tannum Sands, just off the Bruce Highway south of Gladstone in central Queensland. Locally we are known as BITS, an acronym of Boyne Island Tannum Sands. The climate allows us to play nearly all year round, with just a brief break over the Christmas period for green renovation. As a result of this, we are happy to welcome many visitors from the southern states who have travelled north to warm up during the winter months.

The club has a great playing surface, an open and airy feel, plenty of undercover outdoors area, a fully air-conditioned clubhouse with a well stocked bar and cool-room, a couple of big TVs, a pool table and plenty of seating. A visit to the club is all about catching up with friends, having a bit of a chat over a couple of cold ones, sharing the gossip, making visitors feel at home and, of course, playing some high quality and pretty competitive bowls.

Everything that you see at the club is a result of the continuous hard work and effort that our members have put in over the years, and because of this all of our members have a real connection to the club, its success and its future.

If you are an interstate visitor who is reading this page, please take a look at our Useful Links page which we hope will be of help.
